Once a grade period or semester has been completed, you should set and lock those grades so they can be reported. Locking a grade period prevents its corresponding assignment grades from being changed. Your system administrator can also lock grade periods to prevent teachers from changing grades that have already been reported.
Grades for the current grade period are computed automaticallyand are displayed in a column with an orange header. If this grade period has already come to an end, and grades have not yet been locked, the header will be displayed in red instead. Headers for grades that have been locked are displayed in green with a small lock icon. Headers for future grade periods and semesters are also displayed in green, but without the lock.
Each grade column has one or more icons that allow you to manipulate the grades. If a grade column has not yet been locked, you can click on the calculator icon to set or edit the displayed grades. Click on theexclude icon if you do not want to track the corresponding grade for the current class (you will still be able to track it for other classes). Click on the lock grades
icon to lock the displayed grades. You cannot lock grade periods that have not been completed yet.
Once a grade column has been locked, you can click on the edit grades icon to manually override computed grades or to add comments or behavior marks to the grade. Click on the unlock icon to allow grades to be recomputed.
Important note: Unlocking a grade will clear all grade overrides you previously have entered and all grades will be recomputed.
The grid below shows all computed student marks in the Computed column. If you are setting exam grades then this column may be empty. You can override the computed grade percentages or letter grades by entering new values in the Reportedcolumn. Marks that have been overridden are highlighted with Ovr.
